Jai Guru Dev. Mahendra Gordhanbhai Bhogaita passed away on 22nd February 2024 aged 73 in Wigan with his beloved wife and son by his side.

Mahendra bhai was a devoted Husband to Hema ben, a much loved Dad to Yogeshwari and Shivam, a loving Father-in-Law, Brother-in-Law, a dearly loved Bhai and a very proud Nana Bapa (Grandad) to Rishikesh and Sanskar. He was also a proud Hindu and a key member of the Gayatri Pariwar UK, following the teachings of his beloved Guruji Pandit Shriram Sharma Acharya.

Biography

Mahendrabhai was born on 29th June 1950 in Lugazi, Uganda. The beloved only son of Gordhanbhai and Kankuben Bhogaita, Mahendra had two loving younger sisters Lalitaben and Hiraben.

After a happy childhood in East Africa, as a young man he went over to Bharat to finish his schooling before later moving to England in the 1970's with his parents and young bride. Unfortunately, his father passed away soon after coming to Wigan and left young Mahendrabhai to look after the family.

Mahendrabhai briefly worked on the buses as a conductor before securing a steady job at Heinz in Kitt Green. He dedicated over 35 years at Heinz, working his way up to Lab Manager of the nightshift despite the discrimination challenges of the time. Due to his hard work and meticulous nature, he earned respect from his colleagues and made many friends, who lovingly knew him as Michael.

Outside of work, Mahendrabhai dedicated his time to his family and the wider community with whom he shared the teachings of Sanatan Dharma. His happy place was Shanti-Kunj in Haridwar, India and he would often talk of the blessed times he spent with the Gayatri Pariwar, and the teachings of his Guru.
